Viren Kasipersad

MBChB (Natal) 1997; FCOrth (SA) 2009

I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate training in Durban, South Africa, completing the Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship examination in 2009. The first few years after graduation was spent gaining wide experience in various state Hospitals, before commencing private practice in Durban, South Africa. I moved to Rotorua in November 2019, and have worked at Rotorua Public Hospital since.

I have an interest in Trauma, and its complications, and Foot and ankle surgery. A significant proportion of my practice includes primary hip and knee replacement surgery. I am able to perform arthroscopic minimally invasive surgery of the knee and ankle joints. I also perform deformity correction procedures of the foot. However, I consider my practice largely a general Orthopaedic practice, treating or advising on a wide range of conditions.
